Sunday evening on pitch 1 seen Sarsfields u14 camogie beginning their league campaign vs Nurney. With warm spring sunshine and a stiff breeze blowing in to the club house end the scene was set for a terrific game. Sarsfields played the first half with the wind and went on all out attack with Aleia McGann getting the first goal on the board with a fine individual goal. Relentless Sarsfields pressure continued resulting in goals from Hannah Cash and Muirreann O Donnell. Ciara Barrett was outstanding from midfield with a well taken 2:01. The second half brought an anticipated Nurney onslaught but resolute defending from the Sash girls kept Nurney to a single point. Having absorbed everything Nurney could throw at them a lightening move from the full back line ended up with Amy Daly sweeping the sliotar to the net. Aoibhínn was next to find the net with a rare foray into the opposing teams half. The scoring ended with a second goal from Aleia and a long range effort from Reiltin capping off very strong performances from both girls. Well done on an excellent performance finishing Sarsfields 9:01 Nurney 0:01
